*** SALE PENDING *** Honor is a tall, stately female. She is quiet and unassuming, gets along with everyone, and doesn't put up much of a fuss about anything (although she does cush if she doesn't like what's being done to her). Gold Standard, Honor's sire, was a champion son of Snowmass Legacy Gold who produced several champions himself. He has also produced something far more rare: a harlequin appaloosa. Not just any harlequin appaloosa, mind you, but one of the most bizarre, unique-looking harlequin appaloosas that I have ever seen. The ability to "activate" or "allow" the harlequin gene appears to be fairly rare, and indeed, out of six different sires, he was the only one to produce a harlequin with that particular female. Honor's dam, Jessica, is a champion daughter of AML Nicolai -- and champion white son of a grey import. Her granddam goes back to impact dam Peruvian Snappy. It's an unusual pedigree, but it works. Honor's conformation is perfect. She has a handsome head with a huge topknot and deep jaw. Her coverage is excellent. From the fleece perspective, Honor does not disappoint, either. She has a fine (18-23 AFD throughout her lifetime) fleece with an excellent crimp style -- high-frequency and medium amplitude -- and great brightness which gives a terrific hand. Her greatest strength is her density, however. Honor is extremely dense, shearing a 5+ pound blanket yearly -- even as she has aged. Honor's only cria so far is a truly excellent female -- Mercy Me -- who was retained by Whispering Winds Alpacas. Based on the strength of this cria, we are very excited to see what she can produce in color. Honor's daughter is here, and oh my goodness me, she is EXACTLY what we ordered! Solid, strong, dense and beautiful, and, to top it all off: Appaloosa!
